Hello loves! Is anyone else still in complete shock that it’s already 2019? I know I am! I didn’t do a Weekly Wrap Up last Saturday, so this is my first one of this new year and it’s absolutely insane!!
Books
- Crime and Punishment: 3 stars| Oh my gosh. I literally started reading this sucker in NOVEMBER. It took me TWO MONTHS to read and that’s insane because I can read the 800 page Harry Potter books in one day and I was SO PROUD of myself when I finally finished this monster.
- Six of Crows (reread): 5 stars | I started the year off right rereading Six of Crows! The first time I read it I gave it 4.5 stars but I loved it so much omg what was I thinking it’s definitely 5 stars. Now I’m ready to reread Crooked Kingdom!! Also apparently Netflix is making a TV series from the Grishaverse and I’m SO PUMPED!
- The Forest Queen: 3.5 stars | I really enjoyed this gender swapped Robin Hood retelling! I had so issued with it but overall a solid read!
- The Wicked Deep: 4.5 stars | This was so creepy and amazing and I just loved it! The plot twist was INSANE people INSANE (to me anyway…I’m bad at guessing plot twists…)

Life
I went back to school this week! It was so hard to get up at seven after I’ve been sleeping until noon every day, but it was lovely to see my friends again! I also started the new semester, and I know it’ll be easier than last semester, so more time for this beloved blog ❤
Let’s Chat
If you’re a student, when do/did you go back to class? Are you so excited for a Grishaverse adaptation too? I’d love to chat in the comments below ❤
I hadn’t come across The Forest Queen in my bookish travels but it sounds right up my ally! And that cover – serious heart eyes! It sounds like you’ve had a very productive/busy week. As much as I’m pumped for a series based on the Grishaverse it made me realize that I need to just roll up my sleeves and finish the series already. Ruin and Rising is on the top of my TBR this year so I can finally get around to Six of Crows. 🙂

Ahh I need to read the original Grisha trilogy especially now that I know they’re making a show! I’ve only read SoC and CK but I loved them sooo much ❤

Okay – That makes me feel so much better! Sometimes it seems like I’m the only one. I wanted so bad just to skip ahead to SoC but I had so many people telling me that I need to read them in publication order.

Ahh sometimes it feels like I’m the only one who hasn’t read them all too haha so at least we have each other 🙂 I didn’t even know the trilogy existed until after I read SoC (I live under a huge rock, apparently) so I was a bit confused at first but I caught on quickly and no amount of confusion would allow me to stop adoring Kaz Brekker ❤ ❤

hahaha I very huge rock! 😂 I actually can not wait to finally meet Kaz this year because I’m always getting fan art popping up in my pintrest and I’ve heard great things. Also – a book about an impossible heist? Um – Yes please!

I’m soooo excited for the Grishaverse adaptations! Fun fact: I completely missed the fact that Nina is plus size when I first read the duology, forgot about it, and was reminded when my friend texted me about it when she heard about the adaptation. That’s one thing I’m hoping they leave alone. Anywho, it sounds like you’ve had a good week! 🙂

Ahh absolutely can’t wait!! Yess omg the diversity in SoC is so amazing I really really hope they leave it alone and we get to see all the amazing characters the way Leigh Bardugo wrote them ❤ ❤
