My Favorite Spreads From My First Year Bullet Journaling

Hey all! Something you may not know about me is that I started bullet journaling last July! I started getting really into hand lettering and calligraphy first then went down a rabbit hole and decided to start bullet journaling!

My bullet journal feels pretty private to me (not that there’s anything extra private in there, but it’s just like me keeping track of my whole life and it feels weird to share a summary of my whole life online lol) so I’ve never really shared images or talked about my bujo here before! But this July I came upon one who year of bullet journaling, so I thought I’d take a few pictures of some of my favorite spreads and pages from my past year of bullet journaling!

(also LOL the formatting is a mess I TRIED)

Quotes

I love writing quotes! I hand letter lots of quotes, and make doodles, and make cards such as birthday cards and holiday cards! I like to write pages with inspirational quotes in my bullet journal ❤ I wrote this one in my February spread to go with my baking theme.

I really liked my wintery January theme, back when I still had hope that the year wouldn’t be a flaming dumpster fire, so I wrote this quote!

Cover Pages

My march cover pages I went for more of a fine line instead of my usual thick brush pens. This was back when I had hope for March and wasn’t all doom and despair as we know March turned out. I really enjoyed doodling the cute flower and toadstools!

This was October 2019, last year, and I had so much fun with this black and orange spread for halloween! I loved doing what I thought was cute line drawings of spooky symbols haha.

April was when the world started feeling really terrible, so I wanted to go with more of a happy sunshine rainbows theme to try to uplift myself despite everything!

June I went with a colorful fruity theme, which I really liked! I love summer fruits so much and the colors made me happy!asset 1

Specific Spreads

IMG_9251My May theme is my favorite theme I’ve ever done because I loved the succulents! I do pages to track various things I do in the month, and one of those is for keeping track of my reading and blogging! I loved writing in the little flower pots! (ft. my bad handwriting)

Of course school is the most important thing of all for me to track as a student! Here in my December 2019 spread I wrote my daily class schedule on the left, and then information for my finals (location, date, time) on the right!

Trackers

In addition to tracking books and blog posts, I also track lots of other habits and I tracked them with these adorable succulent pots in my May theme, which I’m absolutely in love with! As you can see I did better on some habits than other ones haha

Here are my trackers for my June fruit spread! I kept track of the days I did various habits, including reading and blogging, with super bright cheerful colors!

I loved all my fishies! I think they’re super cute with their little smiles and they really fit in my August 2019 under the sea theme! I used these to track a couple of things more specifically with color coding!asset 2

That’s an overview of some of my favorite bullet journal spreads from my first year of bullet journaling! I also had some weekly spreads I loved, but I wrote a bunch of stuff I didn’t want to put online there so I didn’t share them. Anyways, after a year of doodling and tracking I’m hooked on bullet journaling, and I’m excited for my second year of bullet journaling!

  5. These are so beautiful, Kay! 😍 I have so much respect for anyone who can keep a BuJo, I always make a mistake when using something permanent & then I give up on the whole thing haha

  6. I love your bullet journal! It’s so creative, I love seeing what people create with this, though I think I could never do it, because I’m a failure in keeping schedules and goals and stuff xD I laughed when you said flaming dumpster fire, that’s a perfect description of this year haha! xD Love what you’re doing, don’t stop showing them here, you can always blur the details. 🙂 ❤

  7. You have such gorgeous spreads! I’ve been bullet journaling for around 5 years I think, but this year I started my first reading journal where I get to be more creative and I’ve been loving it so much! Btw, your succulent theme is lovely and your doodles are so cute!
