Hey all! Top Ten Tuesday is a book blog meme hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl! It’s been a million years since I’ve done a Top Ten Tuesday, but apparently I’m running out of ideas because I’m back making another TBR post that I can almost 100% guarantee I won’t actually follow because I am a mood reader.
In fact, I’ll probably read nothing at all this fall because my fall university schedule is absolute murder!! And cherry on top, I decided why not list fall 2020 releases (in a loose term… most of these are already out but it’s fall right now I have a pumpkin on my desk sooooo), to make even more certain that I won’t read them!! (because I use the library and it takes them a while to get the books so I’m always a few weeks/months behind new releases).
So without further ado, here are my Top Ten Books On My Fall TBR!
1. Instant Karma (11/3)
This is the one book on this list I probably will read lmao because I will read anything Marissa Meyer writes no exceptions. And I’m so excited for a contemporary!! And the idea of being able to cause instant karma is amazing! and enemies to lovers???
2. How The King Of Elfhame Learned To Hate Stories (11/24)
So yeah like everyone else I heard Cardan Novella and I was sold okay I’m trash so what?? just let me live and love my cruel tailed prince
3. Cemetery Boys (9/1)
There has been so much hype about this book it sounds so amazing I’m just dying to read it!! Also it’s the first ever ownvoices trans book to hit the NYT bestseller list which is so amazing so happy!! I can’t wait!
4. Majesty (9/1)
I’m trash, okay? Absolute trash. I read the first book and it was objectively horrible and problematic but you know what we’re in a pandemic and life sucks so let me read my reality tv soap opera ridiculous trashy book and have fun with it I deserve it.
5. Legendborn (9/15)
This book has gotten a ton of hype too and seems super amazing! I mean, magic, and Merlin, and Black girls being awesome? Sign me up.
6. Where Dreams Descend (8/25)
hELLO?? Moulin Rogue meets Phantom of the Opera, and I don’t know either of those stories lmao so I’m a fake but I know enough about them and the mystique vibes to know that I need this book in my life.
7. The Puppetmaster’s Apprentice (10/13)
Pinnochio meets Frankenstein? I need no other convincing. I have read 2093482048324 BATB retellings and finally someone super unique and new and sounds creepy and amazing!
8. Broken Wish (10/6)
I super love Julie C. Dao’s other books! And I’m already in love with the premise, of magic and mysterious woods and witches and generational fairy tale vibes!
9. The Camelot Betrayal (11/10)
I really enjoyed The Guinevere Deception! So naturally I’m excited for this sequel! Also call me shallow but that cover…
10. The Silvered Serpents (9/22)
YES I am DYING for this book with everyone else on the planet!!! The Gilded Wolves was amazing and I have heard nothing but good things about this!!
Let’s Chat
Have you read any of these? Did you like them? Are you dying for the Cardan novella too?? I’d love to chat in the comments below ❤
Almost all of these are on my tbr!! So excited for them. The covers on all of them are stunning too! Books make me happy 🙂 Great post!

Fab list! Legendborn also made my list today and I’m really looking forward to reading the Puppetmaster’s Apprentice soon! I’m actually surprised I haven’t seen Holly Black’s book on more lists today but it does sound good and I’m keen to check it out 🙂 Hope you find some down time between the hectic school schedule to read 🙂

Where Dreams Descend was on my list this week too. I’m also really looking forward to The Silvered Serpents, but it’s not on my autumn TBR, I’m thinking I might save it for winter as it seems like a very wintery book!

Cemetery Boys has probably been one of my top anticipated books of the year. I am really mad at myself for not knowing that Instant Karma existed until more recently, but I am so excited for it.

I’ve been wanting to read ALL OF THESE. Especially Instant Karma. But it’s going to be weird because we’re used to seeing Marissa Meyer’s characters as cyborgs.

Great list! I actually just finished Majesty! It’s definitely a cheesy, trashy book, but it was incredibly entertaining 😂. I can’t wait to start The Silvered Serpents!

Instant Karma sounds so good! I didn’t finish the Lunar Chronicles unfortunately because I wasn’t in the mood for a sci-fi at the time (and now I don’t want to have to reread the ones I’ve read) but I did like Meyer’s writing! I also can’t wait for Where Dreams Descend! I don’t know anything about Moulin Rouge or Phantom either but it sounds so good!! The ARC reviews have really hyped it up too

I’m so curious about what Marissa Meyer does with a contemporary and I can’t wait to read it 😀 And I’ve been hearing so much hype about Legendborn that I absolutely have to pick it up! I’m SO eager to read The Silvered Serpents too now that it’s out in the world. Good luck with reading and school this fall!!

Yes, yes, YES to Instant Karma and How the King of Elfhame Learnt to Hate Stories. You can bet I already have my copies on pre-order! But I’m actually super interested to hear what you think of The Puppetmaster’s Apprentice. I’m not really one for Pinocchio or Frankenstein but the premise sounds wonderfully creepy and that cover is gorgeous! 💙
