PERCY JACKSON IS COMING TO DISNEY PLUS!!!!!

Percy Jackson is literally all I have been screaming about for the past three months… and then we got this adaptation… and I am overwhelmed.

So anyways May @ Forever and Everly made this amazing Percy Jackson tag and tagged me so of COURSE I had to do it!!!!! And Lori @ The Reading Fairy tagged me too so thanks to them both ❤ Also, I thought I might as well take this advantage to share my godly parent!

My Godly Parent: Apollo

After much deliberation (3 days lol) including taking the official test (like 12 times lol) I have finally decided that my godly parent is Apollo! (And of course I haven’t read the Trials of Apollo yet… *face palm*. At first I didn’t even think of him, and I thought of other choices like Athena and Aphrodite, but finally, I just knew that it was Apollo, and it felt so right! Here are a few reasons why!

• I’m super into music, and write songs! Throughout my life I’ve played piano, violin, guitar, ukulele, and was in choir! Lately I’ve been writing songs, and I totally spend time zoned out thinking of words that rhyme
• I’m dramatic and a performer! I love performing (dance, acting, etc), and my friends all know that I make a huge deal out of nothings and I’m just overall crazy.
• Healing? I’m interested in it! I’m majoring in biology, and love learning about cells and the body and body systems, and though I’m not yet certain, I’m considering health careers!
• I can see the future. Well… I mean, I read Percy Jackson EIGHT YEARS AGO and then haven’t thought about it or ever reread it since and has basically forgotten almost everything… and then TWO MONTHS BEFORE Uncle Rick makes the announcement I randomly decide to reread them all and get super into it again??

So thanks to coming to my ted talk and learning about why I’m a Daughter of Apollo. Anyways, back to the tag!

I love my baby Percy so freaking much and the only think I like as much as Percy is my favorite book of the year, Harley in the Sky. I knew that I would love this book and it absolutely did NOT disappoint! I love hearing about the circus and Harley’s passion for her art, and I could just close my eyes and imagine myself on a trapeze and feel her euphoria! Not to mention the best multiracial rep I’ve ever read and the only time I’ve ever felt fully represented ever.

Annabeth Chase is a genius and I am in AWE of how smart and wise she is I just wish I could be 1/10 as smart as her pls. I’m also in awe of Emily Sudava author of This Mortal Coil because holy those books are smart. And by that I mean there is so much science jargon in those books literally coding and DNA and biotech and my dumb bio major brain couldn’t even fully follow along I only aspire to be that smart.

Grover is my man my boy my baby and why does everyone forget about him??? The original trio >>>>>> the seven sorry I don’t make the rules it’s just the truth. Small Town Hearts is a book that needs much more love too! It’s such an adorable summer contemporary that everyone should read!

Luke is one of the best written characters of the series hands down for sure! He’s so complex and that makes him such an interesting character and compelling villain and gotta say Luke is so much more interesting to read about than Gaea… Anyways, I hated a bunch of Kasie West’s books and I wasn’t going to read any more… but then Fame, Fate, and the First Kiss sounded just too cute and I hated myself as I started reading it knowing I was about to hate it but unable to resist such a cute premise… and then I loved it!!!

Chiron is such a wonderful mentor for Percy and I love reading about him. A book that feels like home: absolutely Harry Potter. And the first one especially, Philosopher’s Stone, reading about the beginning of Harry’s adventures, is so nostalgic. Maybe it’s cliche but this book will always feel like home. I watched the first few movies when I was really young, read the books in elementary school, saw the last few movies in theaters, and reread this series every single year. I got teary when visiting the Wizarding World at Universal Studios because it really felt like I was home. 

Is there a single sibling relationship more iconic than the Song Sisters from To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before??? I love seeing Lara Jean, Margot, and Kitty react, seeing the way they hang out and joke together and have each others backs through thick and thin and wow I just love these girls.

Thalia is one of my favorite characters for sure, and I love how she’s badass and determined and also going from hating Zoe to being lieutenant of the hunters… Anyways, time definitely froze when I first read Winter by Marissa Meyer. I motored through that 800 page sucker in a day and I just laid in bed and refused to do anything until I’d read it all and knew what happened!

Nico is a HAPPY MEAL I’m wheezing. There was just so much hype over the Folk of the Air series I feel like everyone in the world was screaming about how amazing it is! Especially my favorite book in the series, The Wicked King! Everyone was gushing about it when it first came out and I’m honestly still gushing about it this book is amazing.

See I strategically only used the first Harry Potter book above so now I’m using the fourth book, Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, here! Goblet of Fire is my favorite Harry Potter book, and tbh probably my favorite book ever period. I love how it’s a bridge between the whimsy of the earlier books and the darker grittiness of the later books; perfectly balanced, as all should be. I love seeing Harry really grow into a great wizard here too (the movies really did this book dirty), learning so many new spells! Also this book is veeeeeery long so it’s some good ole island entertainment.

Because let’s be real, at this point Marissa Meyer owns my ass and that’s just the truth, so I’m super hyped for Instant Karma! I’ve legit rated like one of her books 4 stars, one 4.5, and all the rest 5 stars. Also, Rachel Elizabeth Dare is badass she’s a mortal who hit Kronos with a blue plastic hairbrush give her the respect the queen deserves.

I appreciate the brick but do not compare my love with Folk of the Air with loving Jason lmao because he is bland and boring and my least favorite main character and I’ve been spoiled and… I’m not really upset. whoops. Like I said, I am TRASH for The Folk of the Air. The Queen of Nothing was my most anticipated read all last year. I’m obsessed with Jude and Cardan. Especially Cardan. And now he’s getting a novella??? I’m so excited for How The King of Elfhame Learned To Hate Stories. It’s not even a novel just a novella but I don’t care I need this book in my hands now.

I love Piper and I really love how she subverts expectations as a daughter of Aphrodite–romance and beauty does NOT equal vapid and useless people! In addition to the whole book community screaming to read Fangirl, one of my irl friends told me she loved this book and that just sealed the deal! So thanks to her and all of you I have another favorite ❤

Leo is my favorite character introduced in HOO (nobody can compete with the OGs lol sorry) and I was always laughing at his scenes! My Lady Jane is straight up hilarious! I love the way it’s told, and I honestly laughed out loud so many times while reading it.

Hazel is super cool and I loved seeing the other aspect of Pluto besides just the dead! I first read Ella Enchanted when I was 8 and since then I’ve read it… I have no idea? Maybe a dozen times? It’s definitely the book I’ve read most often and I love it so much and low-key want to reread it right now.

Unpopular opinion I’m SORRY but I also found Frank kind of boring? I like his giant goldfish tho what a legend. Reading Crooked Kingdom was one of the most stressful situations of my life?? I was so stressed turning pages not knowing what was going to happen if everyone would survive if the crazy plan that even Kaz was nervous about would work…

I am not equating this badass awesome QUEEN Reyna to silly The Selection but I gotta fit the prompt! Anyways, I’m sure there’s a niche of people who are trash about The Selection like me. I know people irl who are trash about it like me and I looooove fangirling over this book. But on Goodreads this book has like nothing but 1 star ratings and I know a lot of people don’t like it but this book is like I love it so much??? It’s fluffy, it’s cute, it’s full of ridiculous drama and pretty dresses and a hot prince and I just love it so let me love it.

F Octavian. Anna and the French Kiss is one of many books that I absolutely hate but it’s also one that tons of people love and… ugh it’s so awful I slogged through it because of all the hype and I was treated with this?? Throwback to Lily C Reads’s iconic rant review of it I agreed 110% with every single one of her points.

Percabeth! Oh wait, should I not use that…Whatever. I just realized that I somehow haven’t used any of the PJO or HOO books yet for this whole tag so yes I will use it here with no shame because how is Percabeth not your OTP? they literally met when they were 12, went on so many quests together, grew up together, have each others backs for everything, went through literal hell together…
