Hey loves! Top Ten Tuesday is a book blog meme hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl! This week’s prompt is Settings I’d Like To See More Of. I was kind of unsure of how to do this prompt, so I decided to just list My Favorite Settings instead 🙂
1. Hogwarts // Harry Potter
Of course Hogwarts. Don’t we all want to go there? I need to learn magic ASAP.
2. Ketterdam // Six of Crows
I would die there in real life, but that doesn’t stop me from loving reading about Ketterdam! The criminal dealings in the barrel, yet somehow it’s home to our beloved crew.
3. The Great Libraries // Sorcery Of Thorns
This setting is basically a bookworm’s dream! I mean, hello, magic libraries? Books that can flap around and spit ink at each other! When can I go?
4. Faerieland // The Cruel Prince
These faeries are definitely not all sparkles and niceness, but wow the setting is crazy and cool. Especially when you get to see Cardan’s powers as king at the end of Wicked King… wow.
5. Taiwan // The Astonishing Color of After
Of course I have to put Taiwan here! I’m pretty sure this is the only book I’ve read set in Taiwan, and I just loved reading about the locations so much since I’m Taiwanese American and have visited a couple times… and need to go again!!
6. Caraval // Caraval
The world of Caraval… it’s just a game…. but it’s the coolest game because wow what is even real and what is fake so much mystique and just wow.
7. Japan // I Love You So Mochi
Yes for Japan! Mochi street vendors, cherry blossom trees, picturesque parks… I would love to visit it as it’s depicted here!
8. Luna // Winter
The entire Lunar Chronicles are amazing but getting to see Luna is just the best! Even if it’s a little scary with Levana in charge…. come on, it’s the moon! A civilization on the moon is so cool!
9. Paris // The Gilded Wolves
I love Paris! It’s my absolute dream to go there some day. And add a layer of magic to Paris, and it’s incredible!
10. Post Apocalyptic World // This Mortal Coil
I can’t recall if there’s a legit name for this world other than it’s post apocalyptic? It’s super scary to see people exploding, literally, but it’s also so cool that people can program and manipulate and hack DNA. The science geek in me loved reading about this world~
Let’s Chat

These are all such great picks, especially The Great Libraries from Sorcery of Thorns! One of my favorite settings is the circus in The Night Circus 😊

I love that you picked specific settings. I was toying with that idea this week, but went a different route, but I’m so happy with the places that ended up on your list. From This Mortal Coil (I also don’t remember if the world had a name or if it was just a dystopian Earth), Hogwarts, Caraval, Faerieland, and more! Great picks!!

You picked so many amazing books and settings! I loved to read about Taiwan in THE ASTONISHING COLOR OF AFTER – and that was one of my favorite novels last year. I just adored the way the author wrote the setting. Something I’ve always been sad about concerning THE LUNAR CHRONICLES is that we didn’t get to see Luna as much as I was expecting – definitely would have loved even more world building. Faerieland was SO PRETTY, but also dangerous haha, I love Holly Black’s writing, and she did something so magical in TCP. I need to read I LOVE YOU SO MOCHI and SORCERY OF THORNS.

YES to Hogwarts! I wish there were more books set in Harry’s world, past, present, future, whatever. No matter how scary Hogwarts gets, I LOVE it and would definitely read more about it if only J.K. Rowling would write more about it!
Happy TTT!

Hogwarts is my favourite place to read about but the Great Libraries are now on my list after reading Sorcery of Thorns! I would say after reading Ayesha Dean and the Istanbul Intrigue, I really wanted to visit Istanbul because it sounded beautiful.

Yay for Hogwarts 😊 I think I’d literally read hundreds of books set within the Wizarding World. There’s so much potential to follow different characters, schools, countries and times within its universe.
I love the sound of all of these settings actually. There are a few that I need to read still – like Sorcery Of Thorns which I must get on with ASAP as it sounds amazing – but they’re all ones I’d like to explore if I haven’t already.
