Hey loves! Top Ten Tuesday is a book blog meme hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl! This week’s prompt is First Ten Books I Reviewed. Looking back, I’ve definitely seen my review style change a lot! I started both my Goodreads account and my blog last January, so all of these reviews are from around last December-February and wow what a walk down memory lane!
1. Renegades
This one is actually my very very first blog post! I remember being so scared to just throw it up there, and I can’t believe how far I’ve come since!
2. To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before
This is cool to me that one of my favorite favorite all time favorites I discovered right when I first started blogging, since to this day I continue to gush about it here.
3. Because You Love To Hate Me
I was introduced to Booktube around the same time I started blogging, so when I read this I didn’t know any Booktubers besides Polandbananasbooks. Might be interesting to reread now that I know more of them!
4. Shatter Me
I remember I actually read this one in December, but then I wrote a review for it right when I started blogging!
5. A Court of Thorns and Roses
Haha starting book blogging was definitely meeting the hype around Sarah J Maas, who believe it or not I’d never heard of before last January!
6. My Lady Jane
Ooh this book was so hilarious I love it! I definitely need to read My Plain Jane!
7. Eliza And Her Monsters
So I really really hated this book. I gave it 3.5 stars, since I’d just started blogging and I gave everything a good rating. Today, it would probably be 2 stars. Maybe 1.5.
8. P.S. I Still Love You
Another Jenny Han book I adore. Can’t wait for the movie!
9. The Cruel Prince
Remember the Cruel Prince hype from last January? Ahh, memories.
10. Wuthering Heights
Haha I remember back when I used to still review classics. I don’t anymore; I already have to write an essay on them for school and that’s more than enough for me.
Let’s Chat
When did you start writing reviews? Do you also cringe a little when reading your old reviews? I’d love to chat in the comments below ❤
You got some cool first books!!

Ha, I think EVERYONE cringes a little when they read their first reviews… at least I know I do!
But it looks like you’ve got a pretty great list of first books! Because You Love to Hate Me was one of my firsts too, and I can totally relate to you on the BookTube thing! I feel like I kind of halfheartedly read the BookTuber-written segments of the book because I wasn’t all that familiar with the community. I to would like to reread this book now and see how my opinions have changed!
Anyways, great post, I enjoyed reading it! ❤

Oh my, I first started reviewing books when I was 13 … I like to pretend those reviews no longer exist, but some are still up on Goodreads. lol. The first one I ever wrote was for Frankenstein. To this day that book has remained one of my least favorites novels ever. 😂
I think it’s awesome that so many of your first reviews were for books that you enjoyed! The Lunar Chronicles was actually one of the first books I ever reviewed, so Marissa Meyer for the win! Haha! Great post! 💕

Great list! I didn’t want to be a negative reviewer when I first started blogging either, but I quickly learned that I like to write my reviews with a pinch of salt.

I started blogging in 2007, so yeah, my first book reviews are quite old. It’s fun to look back though. I’m definitely a better writer/reviewer these days. LOL

I liked Wuthering Heights when I read it in high school, but I haven’t read it since then.

Oh wow, you reviewed some great books when you first started! But my heart is low key broken hearing that you didn’t like Eliza and Her Monsters omg.
Also ahhh I’m also so excited for the P.S. I Still Love You movie!! I haven’t read the books in ages though, so I might reread and review them before it comes out?
I started reviewing books on goodreads last January, but only started my blog two months ago, so I’m still quite new at this.
But my review style has also changed quite a bit (and, for the most part, for the better). Though, my reviews are now VERY long. Like, probably too long, whoops.
But I honestly don’t look back at my old reviews very often. It had been 8 or so months since I last looked at my old old reviews on goodreads, and my entire TTT post is just me cringing into oblivion xD If you’re interested, here’s the link:

I was really excited for the premise but I found Eliza to be such an insufferable brat lol. Yesss I can’t wait 🙂

I started blogging in 2014, so my early reviews are quite old and wow do I cringe as I look at them! I also reviewed ACOTAR when my blog was still relatively new, about a year in I think.

I read WUTHERING HEIGHTS a long time ago, but I haven’t read any of these others. A lot of them are on my TBR list somewhere! Hopefully, I’ll get to them someday.
Happy TTT!

How did you decide which books to review when you first started writing reviews?

I didn’t hear about Sarah J. Maas until about a year ago… so… you’re not the only one.
Sorry you didn’t like Eliza and her Monsters. I’d like to read that one sometime soon.

To All The Boys I Loved Before was one of the first books I reviewed too! I haven’t read the rest of the trilogy yet but it is something I want to do soon.

I agree with you on how reviews changed over time. Mine as well. Those are the popular first few books you reviewed! I have read the series of To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before and others like Renegade I still have yet to read. I also like that you start out reviewing all the good books because when I first started out blogging, I had no idea which books to read haha.. so I got caught in some really boring ones haha..
