Top Ten Tuesday || Favorite Songs From Book/Movie Adaptations

Hey loves! Top Ten Tuesday is a book blog meme hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl. This week’s prompt is Audio Freebie! I don’t ever listen to audiobooks but I still wanted to do something bookish, and I love LOVE music, so I decided to share some of my Favorite Songs From Book To Movie Adaptations. Some of them were created directly for the movie, some of them already existed and were just used at some point, but they’re all associated with movie adaptions of beloved books ❤ I could only think of seven, but I still really wanted to share them out!

1. I Like Me Better (To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before) | I love this song so much also I feel like it fits Lara Jean perfectly?? When I heard it in the trailer I was like YES

“I knew from the first time, that I’d stay for a long time ’cause, I like me better when I’m with you.”

2. Safe and Sound (The Hunger Games) | This song is so hauntingly beautiful and I perfectly sets the mood for Katniss protecting Prim… *sobs*

“You’ll be alright, no one can hurt you now. Come morning light, you and I’ll be safe and sound.”

3. Boom Clap (The Fault in our Stars) | This song is actually so much fun and I love singing along to it also the music video with movie clips is amazing.

“Boom clap, the sound of my heart, the beat goes on and on and on and on.”

4. Beating Heart (Divergent) | Ellie Goulding is such an amazing artist and also this really fits with Divergent also this gives me so many memories because I was obsessed when the movie came out.

“I want to make the best of what is left hold tight. And hear my beating heart one last time before daylight.”

5. A Thousand Years (Twilight) | Okay I don’t like Twilight that book/movie is trash, but this song is such a beautiful love song it’s so romantic and I love it.

“Darling don’t be afraid I have loved you, for a thousand years, I’ll love you for a thousand more.”

6. Yellow (Crazy Rich Asians) | The director wrote a letter asking Coldplay to use this song in his movie, because all his life “yellow” has had a negative racist connotation and this song made it beautiful, and hearing it sung in Chinese is just incredible!

“Look at the stars, look how they shine for you, and everything you do, yeah they were all yellow.”

7. Stay (Everything, Everything) | This song played during the trailer and it’s such a great pop song and lowkey made me so hyped for the movie before I’d even read the book.

“All you have to do is stay a minute, just take your time. The clock is ticking, so stay”
