Top Ten Tuesday is a book blog meme hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl! This week’s prompt is Books I Meant to Read In 2018 but Didn’t Get To. There were so many books I wanted to read last year since I had just started blogging and was getting caught up on all the hyped books I didn’t know about, and even though I didn’t finish them then, I’m determined to read them this year!!

1. Strange the Dreamer | I loved Daughter of Smoke and Bone and have heard nothing but good things about this book so I hope I can read it this year!

2. Throne of Glass | I read the ACOTAR series last year as my introduction to SJM, and hopefully I can read this one this year!

3. Eleanor and Park | Last year was my introduction to Rainbow Rowell and I definitely love her works so I have to read this one!

4. Forest of a Thousand Lanterns | I’ve been wanting to read this book for quite a while since I’ve read the author’s other unpublished work on Wattpad and loved it so hopefully I can read this one now!

5. A Thousand Perfect Notes | Shame on me for not reading this when I love Cait’s blog so much…this year it’s gonna happen!

6. Warcross | This book has such an intriguing premise and I have no idea why I haven’t gotten to it yet!

7. Puddin’ | I really enjoyed Dumplin’ but somehow never got around to this book…nevertheless, after all the hype the Netflix movie is getting I’m determined to read this one!

8. Scythe | This seems so cool! Why haven’t I read it yet ahhh

9. Queen of Hearts | I love the Wendy Darling series so much so I must start Oakes’s other one!

Well, now I’m just realizing how many amazing books I still have to read!! Must move these to the top of the TBR I never follow haha! What are some books you meant to read last year but didn’t? Which of these books should I read first? I’d love to chat in the comments below 🙂

  10. I liked Strange the Dreamer, but it took more energy than I expected (although it is a giant tome of a book and it’s sequel is no shorter, so I don’t know why I thought I’d plow through it).

  11. I love the Strange the Dreamer duology so much. I hope you love it Kay! Forest of a Thousand Lanterns was such a wonderful anti-hero story and A Thousand Perfect Notes made me sob so much. I haven’t read Dumplin’ yet so I must fix that soon! Ooh I adore the Stalking Jack the Ripper series! Hope you enjoy all these!

  13. Strange the Dreamer is on my list as well! One note about Throne of Glass. ACOTAR books started coming out around Heir of Fire time and I think you can tell by the quality/focus improvement of the ToG books, so if you’re underwhelmed by Throne of Glass and Crown of Midnight just hang in there. I just remember how long they were until the end when the book would throw some crazy new development that just made me want to read more!

  26. I highly recommend Stalking Jack the Ripper – especially if you loved The Infernal Devices! I’m actually planning a re-read this year so I can continue with the next installments. Another one on my own 2019 TBR is Strange the Dreamer. I actually started it last year but my Kingdom of Ash hangover and mental health got in the way so I had to put it one hold. I actually adored what I did read of Strange the Dreamer so I can’t wait to pick the duology up again. ❤

  29. I read Stalking Jack the Ripper in the last few days of December and really enjoyed it! And I LOVE Scythe! It’s one of my favorite 2018 reads! I also enjoyed Warcross, and ToG will always have a special place in my heart! I hope you get to these ones in 2019! ❤️

  30. I have Strange the Dreamer on my list this week too, but honestly, I have to read all Laini’s books. You picked a good year to start Throne of Glass because now you can binge the entire series, lol. *sigh* Scythe…I need to read it too. It sounds so good! Plus I feel like I’m hearing about it so much more now. Good list!

  32. Eleonor and parks is sitting on my « need to read » shelf too!! I bought it thinking it sounded good and then… well.. got caught up in arcs instead 😅
    Stalking jack the ripper is also one ive been eye-ing and tempted by! However I do not own a copy yet
